Responsibilities

 

      • Daily Work Flow
        • Verify Welding Process/Procedure required for Project through Shop Foreman and Shop QA/QC Representative (welding process/procedure to be noted on each Fabrication Traveler issued with Drawings).
        • Verify or Assist with Verification of Fit-up, prior to Weld-out as required.
        • Complete and inspect all Weld Passes.
        • Interpret drawings and welding symbols.
        • Learn the Weld Map and Welding Procedure Specification requirements.
        • Select the correct welding wire and adjust the welding machine to make the welds specified.
        • Operate arc gouging equipment.
        • Demonstrate an understanding of the proper use of hand tools, grinders, and welding equipment.
        • Assist Welders and Fitters in cleaning, moving, holding, clamping, and preparing workpieces.
        • Weld on carbon, alloy, or stainless steel plate, sheet, shapes, castings, or other parts included in fabricated steelwork.
        • Produce welds that meet acceptable standards in terms of strength and appearance in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions using gas-shielded flux core wire welding procedures.
        • Clean welds by grinding or brushing where required.
        • Apply welding sequences that prevent excessive shrinkage or distortion.
        • Inspect Equipment (Welding Machine, Leads, Flux-Core Box, Grinder, Etc.), at the Start of Every Shift
        • Upon Completion of Every Weld, Welder is Responsible for Cleaning and Applying Stencil/Stamp (3/8” from every Weld).
        • Note: Welding requires that the Weld is Marked the Same Way, except the Stencil has to be put every Three (3) Feet of Weld Length

Qualifications

 

  • What Type of Experience are we looking for?
    • Preferably 2 year Minimum Experience in Fabrication
    • Experience welding FCAW procedures
    • Experience welding Subsea equipment
    • Understanding of Structural Fabrication
