Responsibilities

  • What you'll do
  •  
  • The Cleaning Technician position requires the person to demonstrate the ability to performs tasks involving physical labor primarily performed in confined spaces at various locations as assigned by the Cleaning Supervisor primarily inside above the ground storage tanks. 
  • Cleans interiors of storage tanks, industrial processing tanks, other vessels to remove emulsion and
  • Participate in an onsite JSEA.
  • Connect and disconnect diaphragm pumps.
  • Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power tools.
  • Operate and control Pressure Washer.
  • Operate start and stop an Air Compressor.
  • Dismantle and store rigging equipment after use.
  • Identify what proper tool is needed for taken apart flanges
  • Connect and disconnect hoses, using shovels, squeegees, brooms, scrapers, hoses, water, and solvents.
  • Perform tank and vessel cleaning which includes cleaning of the interiors of storage tanks to remove products or bottoms using shovels, squeegees, scrapers or other means as required.
  • Utilize different types of equipment during the tank cleaning process may including, but not limited to PSI washer, wash down hoses, suctions and discharge hoses, pumps and high-pressure washer.

  • Drains tank, connects hose to water or steam lines, and sprays walls, roof, and bottom of tank to flush residue, such as oil, acid, grease, and sludge through tank openings.
  • Scrapes and scrubs walls, using detergents, solvents, scrapers, and brushes to remove incrustations, scale, or deposits of coke or catalyst.
  • Sweeps up debris and shovels sludge into buckets or wheelbarrows or down chutes.
  • Removes chemical residues and other liquids from tank bottoms with squeegees or pump and suction hoses.
  • Tests gas content of tanks.
  • Adds specified chemicals to industrial tanks to maintain and replenish tank processing solutions.
  • Performs other duties and services to ensure successful projects are delivered and clients are satisfied
